Trip Itinerary       Malaga  -  Ronda  -  Lagos  -  Sagres  -  Copenhagen

Malaga Spain  -  Costa Del Sol

This is the famous sign on the Malaga Beach entrance.

The Alcazaba fortress in the center of Malaga sits on a mount above the town.

The Alcazaba fortress

The Roman amphitheater in front of the Alcazaba fortress.

Our hotel was very nice and in a great location and neighborhood                             A few doors down from us is the Hotel California (thought it was in California)

This larger park runs through the center of town and the trees a full of green parrots.

A lot of cool old but very elaborate buildings with great architecture.

Malaga still has its Bull Fighting arena but I only was able to see the outside. It was in the center of town.

The local grocery store a block from our hotel was a small store by US standards but very nice and the fresh seafood

was amazing for this size store and they had a dry ham section that was very impressive.

I went there for the fresh world class pastries     (3 amazing croissants for a euro)

A fancyMalaga bakery with a lot of goodies

The architecture is very Spanish and full of character.

Ronda Spain - Andalucia

Some of the buildings in the center of town sit right next to the cliffs.

This is the other side of the ravine.

This bridge connects the two sides of town.                                                                   It's quite a drop if you sleep walk.

The ravine has walkways going down to the bottom and there are gardens and a river down at the bottom.

Ronda is a perfect size town situated in a large mountain range. It's old very historic but not too big or busy. One of my favorite towns in Spain.

Yes I really liked this town.

The matador stands at the entrance of the Ronda Bull Fighting arena.

Lagos Portugal - Heart of the Algarve

The national pastries of Portugal are the Cream Custard Tarts and they are Yummy.

Our Air B and B Livingroom

Our Air B and B Kitchen

Praia Dona Ana beach is the largest of the cliff beaches.

People were jumping from the rock formations

The beach was packed on Saturday at high tide.

These cut throughs connect the beaches

Praia Dona Ana   (Lagosbeach)

Beach at high tide.

Looking from the top ofFaroi Da Ponta Da Piedade

Me on the cliff at Faroi Da Ponta Da Piedade

Bob on the cliff at Faroi Da Ponta Da Piedade

We walked down the long set of steps atFaroi Da Ponta Da Piedade

Faroi Da Ponta Da Piedade beach was best accessed by water.  (Lagos Cliffs and Caves park)

This is all I need to say. WOW!

Kayaking in.Lagos Portugal

We start our tour near town and everyone is getting the hang of their kayaks.

We are headed for our first cave

I asked Bob to let the other kayaks in our group pass so I could get the group picture

As we start out on the kayak tour we passed by Camilo Beach. This quite a hike up and down.

We are headed for another cave entrance, the water is blue, clear and just the right temperature.

I had Bob paddle while I took pictures. This cave was long and narrow.

The cave entrances can get crowded in summer with many kinds of water vessels .

Me trying to look cool paddling!

The views are breathtaking

Next time I go to Lagos I will rent a kayak and take my time  (no tour).

Yes another cave.  Cool.

Another group on akayak tour.

Sagres Portugal - Algarve's Sagres National Park

Sagres National Park's Lighthouse is located on the southwestern most tip of Portugal and Europe.

Also known as "The end of the Earth" and is located about 20 miles west of Lagos

(Please note I took all of the other pictures except this one)

Sagres National Park's Lighthouse takenfrom the edge of the cliff and no rails etc. and its a 30+ story drop to the sea below

Gracie, Bill (me), Cheryl and Bob (my brother). And Janet took the picture.

Gracie, Janet, Cheryl and Bob

These people on the cliffs are tempting fate, one good slip and your a goner.

Ireland's Cliffs of Moher are much much taller, but these are just as scary.

The cliffs are spectacular so I too, tempted fate and walked to the edge to get the best picture.

The Sagres Light House

Just a mile or so from the lighthouse we found a great little seafood place.

My fire roasted Sea Bass Dinner with the head still attached. It was super fresh and delicious. (About 10 Euros - a deal!)

Copenhagen Denmark

While at the Airport I found some interesting things - I now know where the Raindeer went

I also found a lot of Viking related Items such as Strong Beer in very large bottles and cans

I had a Steff's Hotdog on my last two visits to Denmark and they are awesome and very popular there.

I did not take a lot of pictures this time in Copenhagen but I did make it a point to find the well hidden disk golf course.

Since my friends got me playing (and hooked) I had to throw a disc in Europe and I got to.

A cool little 2 seater car I saw in front of a pub. You will see many weird vehicles in Europe.

There was a major political event going on the day I was in Copenhagen with the popular President of France and The Prime Minister of Denmark.

I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I took these two still pictures from my iPhone video.

Following a few cars behind him is the Prime Minister of Denmark. They had about 15 police cars and 30 police motorcycle escorts.
